Rakursi Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition “Lonely Flowers” by Radoil Serafimov.

The young artist is interested in the limitless possibilities of expression and suggestion in painting. Working with paint: its layering and movement, plasticity and ethericity all add up to a different understanding and experience in the media, being a parallel language of the image. He oftens turn to images from the surrounding environment, which awaken different associations outside their context.

About the present exhibition, the artist shares: „A fragment of a film, a photo of flowers, developed into thoughts about flowers in general and a dream intertwined with reality. In painting, the path of color and paint opens up collateral possibilities to the original intention. It’s not all about the original motive. The sense of color, of space and paint in motion set additional directions for what is happening. Questions arise: which means what and how is it perceived? What is black and how does it affect when it is a flower? A fleeting existence in a colorful apogee places you within the limits of time.
The objects in the paintings rely heavily on the space and its aura. The landscape environment in most of them emphasizes quiet action through presence. Thoughts of disaster, breakdown and inevitability creep into the mind.

A moment before everything continues on its own path of existence or destruction.“
