This fall Rakursi Art Gallery presents one of its most remarkable artists– Slav Bakalov. “I don’t head out for a walk if at the end of it, a meatball is not awaiting me”. This phrase, coming from a self-deprecating Carlson, is an allegorical portrait of the personages from his paintings, who always make you wonder whether their spiritual or their conformist side will take over. Slav Bakalov never lets you decide because if you do you will stop thinking. When it comes to him even the most serious notions end up with a smile.
