“Glimmers in the Grey”
15 December 2006 – 5 January 2007
Delacriox said once that the grey color is like a vampyr that absorbs all other colors. If we are to take great thinkers’ thoughts into consideration, we have to say that the opposite statement is also true, namely that the grey color is like a servant to all colors and underlines their meaning and brilliance in different and ingratiating manners. And because this is also valid for the black and white colors, the genius enlightenment of Delacroix seems more doubtful.
The colorful experiments on grey background in the last exhibition of Slav Bakalov “Glimmers in the Grey” are something like dwelling on this theme with a brush in the hand.
