Sofia Art Fair

Rakursi gallery has the pleasure to participate in Sofia Art Fair taking place from October 8 through 11, 2026. The gallery brings together three artists from different  generations – Bozhidar Boyadzhiev, Simeon Stoilov and Radoil Serafimov, united by a conceptual approach to painting, in which reality is not reproduced, but interpreted and constructed. For them, this is the result of a painting process — a field in which perception, memory and inner experience build parallel versions of the visible.

Bozhidar Boyadzhiev, a prominent artist of contemporary Bulgarian art, participates with works from the series Screenshots (2004). In them, reality is subjected to structuring and rearrangement — constructed through the segmented background, which remains constant in color and texture. Thus, an autonomous environment is built in which the images function as parts of their own visual logic. The paintings are in a mixed technique, combining tempera and airbrush.
For Simeon Stoilov, the reality passes through personal experience and is transformed into a state. His paintings do not depict, but fix moments of perception – between the external world and the internal response. Connected to the sea as a source of observation and sensation, they bring contemplation and amazement before fleeting and impermanent natural phenomena. He participates with acrylic painting and an object.
The young artist Radoil Serafimov considers reality as a process of continuous transformation. In his works, it materializes as a parallel pictorial environment, arising between the conscious and the subconscious. The objects in his paintings exist through the aura of space, and the landscape environment often emphasizes the quiet action through its presence itself. He participates with oil painting.
