Simeon Stoilov

Simeon Stoilov was born in 1971.

He graduated The Academy for Fine Art in Sofia in 1996. The artist works in wide range of media, painting, sculpture, photography, site- specific installations, etc. The main ideas in his work are about the replacement of values in the contemporary society, the fictional imposed “values,” the lies and the secrets that pursue and surround us. Paradoxically to the above the artist pays attention to the contemplative images we experience, which are “more real” than all the rest. Simeon Stoilov is equally good familiar with the sculptural materials and the painting techniques and easily use ready-made objects which in most cases are tailored to the space that makes them close to the site-specific installations.
